About company FINE

Fine is a Czech company developing and supplying structural and geotechnical programs. Presently, the company offers more then 50 individual programs solving tasks in fields of statics, design of structures, foundations and geotechnics. Our programs serve more than 1700 users in more than 60 countries of the world. We supply both world-known design and construction companies and smaller firms and design offices.

Development of individual programs runs in cooperation with top Czech and Slovak technical universities and distinguished experts in appropriate fields. Company Fine has obtained couple grants for science and technological development provided by The Czech Science Foundation and the Czech Republic.

We aim to offer our customers powerful and affordable products with simple control and high reliability. Our programs are designed in such way that working with them is simple enough for users with basic computer skills. We develop and supply various language versions of our products in cooperation with local business partners to make your work easier and more comfortable. Presently, our customers can choose from 10 languages.

History of FINE

Slope Stability program

The roots of the software company Fine go back to the early 80’s. At that time, program suite FIN for structural analysis and design of steel, wood and concrete structures was developed in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering of CTU in Prague. Development of programs GEO focused on geotechnics and foundations started in the late 80’s. Merging development of both programs in the early 90’s made our work more efficient, increased the quality of the products and in 1992 finally resulted in establishing of the company Fine. Since that time, Fine has become an integral part of the central European market with civil engineering software.

Another important date in the history of the firm is the year of 1994 when cooperation with Czech producer of steel fasteners for timber structures Bova Březnice was established. This successful collaboration resulted in development of TRUSS program suite designed for modelling and analysis of timber roof structures connected with punched metal plate fasteners. The program is supplied with a complex technology under trademark Bova-nail.

So far the latest addition to our software assortment is represented by development of graphical environment for program ATENA produced by Cervenka Consulting company and designed for non-linear analysis of concrete structures.

In the years 1996-2000 all our programs were transformed to Windows environment. This new platform together with proven know-how of the company allowed development of an entirely new suite of simple and easy-to-control programs. High quality and affordability of the programs spread them around the world. Supply of our products is supported by our local business partners and the e-shop opened in 2006.

In the year of 2008, Fine and TNO DIANA BV, located in Delft, the Netherlands, have agreed to co-operate in the distribution of analysis software for the geotechnical and tunnel engineering community. Thanks to this co-operation, both parties expect to expand business by making use of each other’s networks and expertise.
