Settings - EN and LRFD

The "Settings" frame serves to specify the type of Design situation (persistent, transient, accidental  and seismic).

When performing the analysis according to EN 1997 the chosen design situation designates set of partial factors, which are applied on load, material and resistance in analysis.  Partial factors can be changed in the frame "Analysis methods"

When performing the analysis according to LRFD the persistent design situation considers partial factors  specified in the frame "Analysis methods". For transient, accidental or seismic design situations these partial factors are equal to 1.0. The coefficients reducing resistance remain the same for all combinations.

The frame setting serves to specify the type of pressure acting on a wall based on the allowable wall deformation. Providing the wall is free to move an active pressure is assumed, otherwise, a pressure at rest is used.

For wall with footing jump it is possible to choose the way of accounting for the wall footing jump.

The frame further requires specifying whether the analysis will calculate a skew earth wedge or whether the earth-pressure wedge will always be considered as vertical.
