Nonlinear theory (Masopust)

The nonlinear theory constructs the loading curve (Load – settlement curve) assuming that evolution of settlement as a function of resistance up to full shaft resistance activation can be represented by parabola. After that the relationship is linear as displayed in Figure. This method was derived from equations of regression curves constructed on the basis of statistical analysis of the results of static loading tests of piles and for the determination of vertical bearing capacity it employs regression coefficients. Further details are provided herein.
