Settings

The "Settings" frame contains basic settings for the analysis of earth pressures. The program offers pre-setting for different countries (USA, Czech Republic, Germany, France...) and "Standard" recommended by the authors of the program for countries not included in the list. While changing settings in the combo list the values of coefficients of reduction of soil parameters in corresponding windows are changed.

The tab sheet "Others" serves to specify the parameters for the Redi Rock wall program.  The check button "Hinge height concept" determines, whether the Hinge height concept defined in the second addition of the NCMA manual will be used. Furthermore, the masonry friction reduction factors, which reduce the bearing capacity of the joint between the soil and concrete, are defined. Concrete-concrete or soil-soil joints do not account for the MRF in the program.

An arbitrary analysis setting is available with the option "User-defined". Selecting the option "Safety factor" allows the user to specify in input field own values of the factor of safety (for slip, overturning and bearing capacity). Selecting the option "Limit states" allows for specifying individual values of the coefficients of reduction of soil parameters and coefficient of overall stability (when subjecting the wall to overall verification this coefficient is used to multiply the resisting moment M_res and the resisting shear force H_res).
