Column base – Analysis of column bases of steel structures according to EC3 standard

The program serves to compute and verify the load-bearing capacity and stiffness of connection of a steel column made from rolled or welded profile to a concrete foundation.

The steel column is either embedded into the foundation or connected to the base by a frontal plate. The program enables addition of haunches to the column.

Main features:

  • database of rolled steel profiles
  • material database
  • database of steel bolts
  • arbitrary number of load cases

The program is able to determine the crucial load case and completely verify the load-bearing capacity of the joint. For a joint rigid in bending the program first computes its stiffness and then classifies it as rigid, semi-rigid or hinge connection.

The program has been developed in collaboration with team of specialists from CTU in Prague. Technical guarantee of the project is Prof. Ing. František Wald, CSc.
