Steel – Design of steel elements according to EC3 standard

The program performs design of steel cross-sections and members according to EC3 standard.

It analyses solid and composed cross-sections, rolled and welded profiles and built-up members. The program checks elements with considering the influence of buckling, lateral and torsional buckling and weakening due to openings. It also provides verification of member thickness. Program Steel runs in the following modes:

  • The program is launched within FIN 2D or FIN 3D; in each case it loads the computed internal forces, checks the members and modifies cross-sections if necessary. These changes are considered in the analysis program and the structure is automatically reanalysed.
  • The program is launched independently; in such case it performs check of given cross-section or member for entered internal forces.

An arbitrary number of cross-sections and members can be verified at the same time within a single data file.

The program has been developed in collaboration with team of specialists from CTU in Prague. Technical guarantee of the project is Prof. Ing. František Wald, CSc.
